The 4-Step EZ Brick Method

Here is the condensed summary of the installation workflow you can review on your phone while installing.

Step 1

Surface Prep & Layout

Ensure your drywall is clean, dry, flat, and structurally sound. Snap a level chalk line along the bottom of the wall to establish a straight course for your first row of panels.

Pro Tip: Dry-fit 2–3 mesh panels along the wall first to plan your layout and cut locations.
Step 2

Apply Tile Adhesive

Apply premixed tile adhesive or tile mastic evenly to the wall using a notched trowel held at a 45° angle. Work in manageable sections.

Pro Tip: Only spread as much adhesive as you can panel in 15–20 minutes to prevent skinning over.
Step 3

Install EZ Brick Panels

Press the EZ Brick fiberglass mesh panels firmly into the adhesive bed. The interlocking tabs automatically maintain uniform spacing. Trim mesh with tin snips as needed.

Pro Tip: Stagger each subsequent row by half a panel to create an authentic running-bond brick pattern.
Step 4

Pack & Tool Mortar Joints

After 24 hours of adhesive curing, mix preblended Type S mortar to a damp-soil consistency. Pack mortar into joints with a hawk and tuck-pointing trowel, shape with a concave jointer, and brush clean.

Pro Tip: If mortar smears on the brick face, allow it to dry slightly before tooling. The damp mix will break away cleanly.
